When I was younger, I would always wonder what the meaning of life was. I would look up at the clouds and wonder why I existed and if I had a purpose. I would observe the world around me, and I would notice how wicked and pointless some things appeared to be. I grew up in an impoverished environment that was lacking in more ways than one. I endured abuse that I have had to seek therapy for as an adult. I would look and observe all of the adults who appeared to be busy all the time, and I would wonder why no one would talk to one another in the grocery store or in any public space for that matter. It was not until I was in my teen years that I began to pick up on the fact that life was much more than what meets the eye.

I began to access spirituality through the lens of Christianity (mainly because that's what I grew up in). I began to see that the world and life itself were intentional, and I came across something called "Intelligent Design." It was then that things started to make sense, and some of my deeper questions began to be answered. Questions like, "What is the meaning of life?" and "Why am I here?" These inquiries began my journey of self-awareness and ultimately led me to a concept called "Inner Work".

Inner work, from my understanding, is a process of both building and eliminating things that contribute to the growth of the human soul. In my book, "Optimized Fusion," I speak of how life serves us opportunities to optimize our souls through life's challenges and difficulties. Once we bring our souls into alignment with their true purpose, we begin to effortlessly achieve our goals. In this process of soul optimization, we learn how to deal with the harsh realities of the world and understand them from a higher perspective.

As I have aged, inner work for me has boiled down to clearing trauma (both childhood and adult) and practicing spirituality through self-awareness and intentional communion with the divine. When I speak of self-awareness, I am speaking of being aware of every element happening within the human experience. This includes being aware of my emotions, my desires, my dreams, my goals, and most importantly, my existence as a spiritual being. This also includes the awareness of how my body responds to both internal and external stimuli, specifically the response from my nervous system. I have found that understanding the nervous system and how it works is key to understanding why we respond the way we do to particular stimuli.

I believe that the quest to pursue inner work is one of the most fulfilling and meaningful things that we can undertake while living this life here on Earth. In undergoing this work, we receive the opportunity to evolve beyond our physical and mental capacities; we have the opportunity to evolve spiritually. So join me as we work together to evolve and better understand our purpose and our reason for being alive.
