Faith is an inner faculty of the soul that grows stronger through exercise, much like a muscle develops through resistance.

I rejoice when I encounter circumstances that require faith, for they provide an opportunity to strengthen this inner faculty while gaining deeper insight into the nature of faith and the character of God.

As I rest in God amid the unknown, I become aware of faith as something more than an idea—it reveals itself as a living substance within the soul. Without circumstances that require trust, there is no opportunity to experience this reality firsthand.

My desire is to embody faith so deeply that, regardless of my circumstances, faith becomes the atmosphere I carry into every situation.

Without the opportunity to trust God in unknown circumstances there is no way a soul can experience this substance and energy.

In every circumstance, I am learning to detach myself from both desired and undesired outcomes, choosing instead to focus on my response—to meet the unknown with calm assurance, grounded in faith in God’s goodness and wisdom.

Outcomes were never the point. The point was to respond to every circumstance leading up to outcomes with faith, courage, and unwavering trust in God.

I am happy that I have been given an opportunity to put my spiritual training to the test. My soul delights at any opportunity to know more about faith and to grow in faith, especially in accordance with God’s good pleasure.

Ultimately all of this boils down to trust and learning how to trust God more and more, to the point where there is no doubt. And remember it is not the outcome that matters, it is the response.

Faith is not primarily about producing desired outcomes; it is the inner faculty by which the soul learns to trust God so completely that its response remains steady regardless of circumstances.
